My Looong Overdue Christmas Wishlist!

My family and I have this tradition of celebrating New Year's Eve the Christmas way. Meaning, we usually open all our gifts come New Year and prepare a feast on this occasion since this is the time that our family is most complete in the holidays (FYI: my older brother and sister celebrate Christmas Eve with their Dad's family). Our Christmas Eve would compose of simbang gabi, then we all eat out in a fine dining resto and go home for wine and dessert.
After mass and early dinner, my Kuya and Ate would then celebrate with their Dad at his place.

All this being said, it's never too late for MY Christmas Wishlist, right??

My Very First Stint @ Production -- All Praises!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

It's been almost a week since Sitti's Christmas Concert at the Las Pinas Bamboo Organ  Ch
urch and still, may HANGOVER pa rin ako!  So sorry for the super late reply... hanggang ngayon, bumabawi pa rin ako sa tulog at pahinga!

Anyway...

Thank you, thank YOU to all those who supported the pre-production of Sitti's show and of course, thank you for watching the concert, especially to those who took the time and the effort to travel all the way to Las Pinas (Sa mga taga NORTH, kay Mia Mag-usara na taga Dumaguete at kila Ivy Alcala & Teri Liwanag na nanggaling pang Lucena!Hurrah to everyone who came to watch the show! You guys rock! )

It seems that everyone r
eally had a blast during the concert.  It's such a great fulfillment for me that you guys enjoyed the song line-up which I personally selected & conceptualized (with the guidance of Sir Garrie & Direk John, of course). It was really my aim to include songs which everyone can relate to (kaya siguro naging senti karamihan?)  Anyway, I hope you guys also enjoyed the non-Christmas songs which I included in the repertoire (ayoko din kasi maging purely Christmas concert ang show, at least may konting break)  And just like what I mentioned before, we lessened the bossa selections on purpose. I added a bit of pop, classical and broadway in the repertoire so that this show would be a testament of Sitti's versatility as an artist.

It's been a hectic 3 months of grueling preparation, but I guess, it was all worth it!
Thus, I'd like to thank the following people for paving the way to a successful Christmas show:

* To The SiTTiZens who supported my event (and to the newbies that I just met after the show -- pasensya na, di ko kayo masyadong nachika, I was so harassed that night!) -- Atsie Flora Joy Tiu-Suaboksan (thank you sooo much for helping me sell the pins!), Kelvin Lau (thank you for the Tiffany & Co. necklace that you got for me & Sitti), Wei Chong, Mia Mag-usara (Grabe, salamat sa pasalubong!), Jeff Salindong, Ivy Alcala, Mark Tee, Father Joel Camaya, Andres Entuna, Mary Alarcio, Aimee Perello, Shella Rosal, Teri Liwanag (thank you sa espasol :D), Lawrence Buccat (thank you for making time to make the pins), Jendy & Arlene Asuncion, Linda & Bobot Mahor, Bossing Noel Miranda, Mel Pichay & Nurse JD, Johann Arraga, Kisan (?), Tyrone Su, JPooh Manahan, Shirley Mags, JT Tumbokon, Miggy Ramirez, Lito & Nenette Capio, Myke Barros, Alan Paul & Aileen Angeles, Irene Yruma, Berns Pastrana, Jason Liao, Lia Manalac & boyfriend Powee... who else did I forget?

Directions to the Las Pinas Bamboo Organ Church
(Courtesy of Sitti)
================================

[image] [image]

Take Coastal Road and take the road going to Las Pinas (the LEFT LANE at the end of Coastal Road). When you see the flyover, don't take it (sa Ilalim dapat). Then make a LEFT just below the flyover. Just go straight from there. You will pass by this old structure with a stage that makes / sells parols. Go straight. Then, you will see the BAMBOO ORGAN CHURCH on your LEFT.

First Major Concert Jitters?!

What do you guys think of my new office?? =)

I'v
e been working my butt non-stop for THREE MONTHS, sacrificing regular sleeping hours, jeopardizing my physical and mental health and even losing myself in the process (talk about having an emotional breakdown just a couple of days ago! ) in order to produce
a successful, sold out Christmas concert for my good friend, Bossa Nova Queen Sitti Navarro.

Sign of OC-ness: Gawin bang RULER ang KUTSILYO?!

However, in the midst of all the paperwork, legwork, exhausting myself through online promotions and all the
STRESS that you can handle by being an almost "one-woman team", you wouldn't think that a FRESH graduate (an R.N. at that! hindi man lang Advertising / Arts or any course related to Concert Production ang tinapos ko. wah! ) like ME would survive. I knew that someday soon I could have just given up everything... just like that.

Luckily for me, though, a certain "angel" texted me a couple of hours ago to comment on my performance so far ---

"You are doing a great job, mJ.
I'm so proud of you."

-- Sir Garrie 12.06.07 8:49 pm --

With my Bossa BOSS - Sir Garrie Trinidad

Just when I thought that I was
about to quit the management, my BOSS / CO-PRODUCER / FINANCER, Mr. Garrie Trinidad, appraises my performance in the most unexpected moments. Indeed, there are still some people who respect and appreciate you for your work. He may not be the perfect boss but as I learned to embrace his flaws and devour his words in a positive light, everything just fell into place. Some loose areas eventually worked out.

Fooling around with Sir Garrie (Taken a year ago)

Afterwards
, I then sent him a reply telling him how much I appreciate his "pangungulit" and the way he pressures me in a good way and that I thank him for guiding me and looking out for me in the process of this major production.

I guess with that simple exchange of text mess
ages, my ZEST and PASSION for something as far out as this concert has brought me back to my feet again. I am starting to believe once again that I was born for this.  (Diba, Kit??)

Gosh, the concert is barely a week away! I really hope I can pull this off smoothly!

Hope you guys can support my event! =)
